Meeting Minutes –

The meeting was called to order at 1814 hours by the President, CW2R John Curtis, with members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The President declared a quorum present. The meeting was held at Michelangelo’s Ristorante Italiano
Secretary’s Report: CW3R Michael Turner
The minutes of the January 2007 meeting were presented previously to the members electronically. A request for clarifications or changes produced none
A motion was made by CW3R Al Price to accept the minutes as published. The motion was seconded by CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti. The motion passed
Treasurer’s Report: CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti
1. January 31, 2007 Savings Account - $ 5.00 Checking Account - $ 3,298.36
A motion was made by CW3R Michael Turner to accept the January Treasurer’s Reports subject to audit and seconded by WO1 Craig Dowdney. The motion passed
President's Report: CW2R John Curtis
1. 1. Re-involvement of Non-Participating Members – a report was provided listing the “missing” members of the chapter. These are members that are listed on our Chapter roster, but have not attended meetings nor participated in Chapter activities in recent months. The list was reviewed and each member identified and their current status provided
2. Active unit community coordination – several ideas were brought up that would involve the active duty members (including Guard and Reserve) and support for their local units’ community involvement programs
Vice President's Report: WO1 Craig Dowdney
The Vice President has been transferred to a new unit in Tucson
Old Business
1. 1. CW3R Al Price provided an update for the 2nd Annual All Arizona meeting of the USAWOA to be held on March 18, 2007: a. The arrival and eating time is 1200 hours. The Meeting will begin at 1300 hours b. The Western Region Director, CW4R Harry Wilson, and the Deputy Director, CW3R Joe Gill will attend the meeting c. The cost of the meal and meeting space is $19.00 per person, inclusive d. CW2R John Curtis will contact the other Arizona chapters to provide them the updated information
2. 2. CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti provided an update on the golf tournament preparations: a. Mailed out 40 requests for donations to businesses b. We have received $670 so far c. Several businesses have signed up as hole and team sponsors d. The Hole-In-One administration has been completed e. Request that members continue to submit and contact businesses for donations
3. 3. CW2R John Curtis and W01 Craig Dowdney, along with the other EXCOM members are the Scholarship Committee and will receive the request packets and make the determination of the winners 4. CW3R Michael Turner forwarded the letter to National advising them of the rescission of the By Laws change to the term of office of the elected chapter officers on 28 January 2007
New Business
1. CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti provided information about the 2007 VA Veteran Patient Program and how the chapter could assist other local veteran groups with their activities
2. CW3R Bill Keller mentioned that the chapter should investigate the use of the Mayor’s Committee on Veterans Affairs
3. CW2R John Curtis suggested that the chapter hold another Chapter Family Spring picnic. Discussion ensued and a tentative decision to have the picnic at the Fort Lowell Park Ramada sometime in May 2007. The 20th was initially suggested, and then an earlier date in the month was recommend due to prior commitments by several members. A final date is to be determined.
Good of the Order
CW3R Bill Keller announced the following activities:
- Davis Monthan AFB Air Show 17 and 18 March - All Airborne Day in August 2007 - NamJam at Kennedy Park for 2 full days, 21-22 October 2007
Adjournment:
CW3R Al Price made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. There being no discussion, the motion was seconded by WO1 Craig Dowdney and passed by the members present at 1935 hours
The next meeting of the Ft. Lowell-Apache Chapter will be held on 18 March 2007 in combination with the 2nd Annual All Arizona USAWOA meeting. A Sunday brunch begins at 1200 hours with the business meeting starting at 1300 hours. The location is the El Conquistador Country Club – Resort & Sunrise Course, 10555 North La Canada Tucson |
